Call for interpreters Deadline 15 March 2012 Be aware! Power and Responsibility For the efsli General Assembly on 14 September 2012 and for the conference on 15 and 16 September 2012, we are looking for interpreters for Austrian Sign Language, International Sign, German, English, and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, as well as speech-to-text writers. Austrian Sign Language interpreters For the conference on 15 and 16 September 2012, we are looking for Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS) interpreters who will work between German and ÖGS, and English and ÖGS. Interpreters will receive 900 Euros (taxes included) for their interpreting services at the conference (1.5 days); travel expenses (up to 150 Euros), hotel (if residence is outside of Vienna) and meals will be paid for. In addition, we might also need interpreters for the workshops Saturday afternoon. These interpreters will be paid 50 Euros per hour (including taxes). Prerequisites: Positive accreditation examination with the Austrian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (ÖGSDV) and preferably ÖGSDV membership. International Sign interpreters We are looking for experienced teams of interpreters to work between English and International Sign. One team will work a full day at the AGM on 14 September 2012, and all teams will work one and a half days during the conference on 15 and 16 September 2012. Interpreters will receive 1,350 Euros (taxes included) for their interpreting services at the AGM & conference (2.5 days); travel expenses (up to 250 Euros), hotel (3 nights) and meals will be paid for. Interpreters working during the conference (1.5 days) will receive 900 Euros (taxes included); travel expenses (up to 250 Euros), hotel (2 nights) and meals will be paid for. In addition, we might also need interpreters for the workshops Saturday afternoon. These interpreters will be paid 50 Euros per hour (including taxes), and meals will be paid for. Prerequisites: Relevant training or experience in international conference interpreting. Spoken language interpreters For the conference on 15 and 16 September 2012, we are looking for spoken language interpreters working between German and English, and interpreters working between English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. Interpreters working during the conference (1.5 days) will receive 900 Euros (taxes included); travel expenses (up to 250 Euros), hotel (2 nights) and meals will be paid for. Prerequisites: University degree in interpretation or equivalent training for the working languages as well as experience in conference interpreting. Preferably member of AIIC. Speech to text writers / palantypists For the conference on 15 and 16 September 2012, we are looking for speech to text writers / palantypists who will work from English to text. Remuneration is 900 Euros (taxes included) per person for their services at conference (2 days); travel expenses (up to 250 Euros), hotel (if residence is outside of Vienna) and meals will be paid for. Prerequisites: Relevant training or experience in international conferences. Letter of Interest: Teams of interpreters are encouraged to apply. Payment will be 1.800 Euros (taxes included) for his/her services (3 days); travel expenses (up to 250 Euros), hotel (3 nights) and meals will be paid for. The interpreter coordinator is expected to organise all materials, guidance, and coordination before and during the AGM & conference. The interpreter coordinator is expected to arrive on Thursday, 13 September in order to chair the first preparatory meeting on Friday evening from 18:00 to 21:00. Requirements for consideration: - Certified interpreters with international or national conference experience will be given first consideration - Résumé/CV highlighting conference and platform experience - Reference letter from at least two of the following: - conference coordinator of an event related to sign language interpreting - colleague with whom you have worked with at a conference - Deaf consumer who has witnessed your conference work On Friday before the conference, an interpreter preparatory interactive meeting will take place from 6 to 9 pm.
