Marinella Salami was born and raised in Piacenza, Italy.
After becoming a Certified Italian Sign Language Interpreter in 1990, she has been working as a free-lance interpreter in Italy and abroad ever since. Her working areas are conferences, liason interpreting, performing arts and high education. Her clients include national and international corporations, non profit foundations, Deaf associations, Universities, local and national governmental institutions and many others.
Since 1993 she has been interpreting the morning news on the National TV Channel Rete 4 – Mediaset.
She is also an interpreter coordinator and trainer with a focus on ethics and professional practice. She is a member of ANIOS and holds a position within ANIOS National Examination Committee.
She is currently preparing her thesis on Anglo-American literature and Deafness at the University of Milan.
