
Senan Dunne, Dip. in Social Science, M. Phil. in Applied Linguistics, Grad. Dip. in Education. Senan is the Irish Sign Language Co-ordinator at St. Joseph’s School's for Deaf Boys, Dublin, Ireland where he teaches Irish Sign Language (ISL). Senan has worked as a part-time Deaf interpreter for over 15 years and has experience working with ISL, BSL, ASL and International Signs. Senan is registered as a Deaf terpreter and has experience working in mental health, legal, medical, educational settings and at international Deaf conferences. During his tenure on the committee of the Irish Association of Sign Language Interpreters, Senan held the position of treasurer for a number of terms. In addition to simultaneous and consecutive interpreting, Senan has carried out translation of English texts into ISL, and during 2007, Senan attended ASLI mentorship training sessions. He has been a regular presenter on Hands On, a television programme serving the Deaf community that is carried by Ireland's national broadcaster, RTÉ. In addition to acting as presenter for over 12 years, Senan is also an Associate Producer of the programme. In 2009, Senan was a member of the Assessment Panel for the ISL/English Interpreter Accreditation held under the auspices of Sign Language Interpreting Service.Profile of Senan Dunne
