This was summer school 2009:


efsli Summer School 2009 was organised by the European Forum of Sign Language Interpreters (efsli) in cooperation with DODIR (Croatian Association of Deafblind persons).
The training included 2 parts. First part of the training:
- Introduction to deafness combined with blindness
- Different forms of communication used by Deafblind people
- Working with Deafblind consumers: accuracy and quality of interpreting
Second part of the training:
- Interpreting for Deafblind people (Theory and Practice)
- Deaf-blind interpreters
- Ethics/ethical standards
Participants were able to attend the first part or the second part only or both.
First part aimed at beginners:
1st July 2009 - from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
2nd July 2009 - from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
3rd July 2009 - from 9:30 am to 12:00 am
Second part aimed at interpreters with some experience in deafblind interpreting:
3rd July 2009 - from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
4th July 2009 - from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
5th July 2009 - from 9:30 am to 12:00 am
The official languages of the training were:
- spoken English;
- Croatian Sign Language.
efsli summer school took place at the Four Points Panorama Hotel, which is located in the heart of the new business centre of Zagreb, and is surrounded by sport facilities, retail outlets, local trendy cafes as well as other places of interest.
