This year ‘efsli’ is 15 years old and it was really special to be part of the
birthday celebrations during the ‘efsli’ AGM and Conference in Zurich 14-16
September 2007. More than 150 participants from 25 countries participated in this successful event.
Conference
The theme of the conference was “Setting Quality Interpreting Standards” and it the conference provided the opportunity to talk about what we mean by ‘quality interpreting standards’ and to learn what is happening in different countries.
AGM
At the AGM, representatives from various national associations of interpreters provided a report on the situation on ‘Interpreting Standards’ in their respective countries.
New board
At the efsli AGM in September we said goodbye to our former board members Kit Horlacher, Nigel Cleaver, Karin Arquisch, and Linda Thomson. They have all contributed to the development of efsli and I would like to thank them again for all that they have done. The new board members are Gabriel Sicilia (FILSE, Spain), Marinella Salami (ANIOS, Italy), Elke Mutschlechner (OGSDV, Austria), and Zane Hema (ASLI, UK) was re-elected. Our new board is excited and looking forward to working together for the coming years.
